Pierce County students build tiny house for homeless

Construction Trades students at the Pierce County Skills Center are among the many teams of students from across the state that are busy building tiny homeless shelters this month as part of a statewide competition.

Students will ship their nearly completed shelters to Olympia, where they will add finishing touches to their houses such as hanging doors or painting trim. Finished shelters will then be transported to Seattle where they will provide transitional homeless housing.
